Traffic Generation – Getting People To Look At Your Website 

There are a variety of methods you can employ when starting out in traffic generation. It is important to remember its not just about getting people to look at your website though, its also about converting them into buyers. In this article I will give you many methods of traffic generation, and also some advice on boosting your conversion ratio. 

We'll start of with an explanation of creating an accompanying blog for your website and its merrits. 

If you have a static website you are loosing many potential traffic generation methods by not having a blog. To list just a few I'll mention RSS feeds, Blog rolls, Blog specific search engines, Pinging etc.. Its not just about boosting your traffic though. By having a button on your website that goes to your blog, you are also able to reassure your potential customers that you are willing to help if they run in to problems. Everybody knows that problems occur and letting them see how you are trying to help, and the speed in which you try to assist really makes a difference to a potential buyer. 

So lets say you've started a blog like I've said, what do you do now. 

First you need to put at least 5 articles on their explaining the merits of your business, and also asking people if they need any advice or help. By doing this you will reassure your customers that you are taking an interest. 

Next you need to take your RSS feed of your blog and submit it to as many RSS feed aggregators as you can. Each submitted RSS feed will be like a copy of every link you post to your blog so will greatly increase the power and reach of your posts. 

Next you should go to all of your RSS feeds and ping them using Pingler. Pingler let you enter your blog URL and blog name, and then send a ping to all the main search engines informing them that you've updated your post. This will make sure the RSS feeds get indexed, and will subsequently help with traffic generation. 

Next ping your own Blog, as it would be silly to ignore this. 

Now we're on to a great technique that doesn't require you to have a blog, article marketing. 

Article marketing is a great way of getting people to your website because it utilizes the power of larger websites to get your message out there. When an article directory shows your article with your links inside, you are getting backlinks but also you are getting readers and URL visits from genuinely interested readers. As these people are interested in what you are talking about, they are far more likely to either buy something or request more information. 

When writing an article make sure you deliver information that will genuinely give value. There is nothing worse than reading something that doesn't deliver on what's promised. 

If you use the methods I've listed above you should see good quality traffic generation within a week or two. It wont happen instantly as there is a delay while the things you do get indexed but good traffic generation doesn't happen overnight.
